Confidentiality:
At TEDU Student Development and Psychological Counseling Center, all personal information is kept confidential. No personal information is shared with anyone without the permission of the individual; it is not transferred to family members, faculty members or other persons and institutions. Any situation that may endanger the life of the person or someone else is excluded from the principle of confidentiality. In such a case, the student will be informed about the disclosure.
Voluntariness:
Benefiting from psychological counseling services is voluntary and the aim is for the individuals to know themselves and understand their inner world. In this context, the priority is that the individuals are motivated to achieve these goals in line with their own consent and will.
Beneficence and Nonmaleficence:
Experts at the Center strive to benefit the people they work with and take care not to harm them and establish trusting relationships with students. They uphold standards of professional conduct, clarify their professional roles and obligations, accept appropriate responsibility for their actions, and seek to manage conflicts of interest that may lead to abuse or harm.
Integrity and Justice:
Promoting honesty, integrity and truthfulness are priorities in the services of the Center. All students have right to access and benefit from services offered, and to equal quality in the processes, procedures and services carried out.
Respect for People's Rights and Dignity:
Mental health professionals respect the dignity and worth of all people and the rights of individuals to privacy, confidentiality and self-determination. Every human being is valuable and worths to respect. This reflects a respect for individuals simply because they are human, encompassing all people without focusing on any specific attributes or characteristics. It includes valuing the wishes, thoughts, preferences and decisions of individuals while offering support through a humanistic approach.
