Group Psychological Counseling

In group psychological counseling, students experiencing similar problems come together in a safe group environment under the leadership of a counselor and have the opportunity to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences with each other within a program. They get support and benefit from each other's experiences. In this way, they gain new and effective skills in dealing with problems, solving problems and making decisions. Group members also have the opportunity to try the newly learned behaviors in the group and use them in their own lives. In addition, since they interact with more than one person, they also have the opportunity to gain and experience various social and interpersonal skills.

A preliminary meeting is held with the students who want to join the announced group, and the decision to join the group is made together with the student. Generally, groups of 5-10 people meet once a week or every two weeks for approximately 90-minute sessions. Groups are run on a confidentiality basis. The subject of group studies, registration and start dates, and the total number of sessions are determined during the academic year and announced to our students.
