Individual Psychological Counseling

The subject that the student needs and wants to bring to the counseling process is discussed in depth. These are one-on-one, face-to-face meetings where confidentiality is essential. Individual interviews take place in 45-minute sessions. The frequency of meetings and the number of sessions will be determined together with the person and according to students' needs. During the first meeting at TEDU Student Development and Psychological Counseling Center, the student is first asked to fill out an Informed Consent Form. After a brief information about the process, information is obtained to understand the student's purpose, expectations and needs, the problem is defined together and the goal to be achieved is determined. In the ongoing process, the student and the advisor work together to achieve the determined goal. During the process, the goal of the meetings is revised, and new plans can be made, taking into account the student's development and needs. What is essential for the effectiveness of the meetings is that the person is volunteer and willing to participate in the counseling process. If you cooperate with your therapists and trust their work, you will benefit more from the process.
